Tumpuk Bubuh: A Day To Honour The Plants. 2003-12-17 [Balibagus.com]
This Saturday, December 20, 2003, Balinese Hindus celebrate Tumpek Bubuh, a day to honour the plants. Tumpek Bubuh often called Tumpek Wariga, Tumpek Pengatag or Tumpek Uduh. Balinese Hindus make a special offering that contains bubuh (porridge), put it near the roots of the plants, and then pray to Sangkara, a God’s manifestation as the master of the plants. They hope the plants will grow and produce a high quality fruit.
| Tumpek Bubuh, a pawukon based ceremony that falls on Saniscara Kliwon Wariga, has extended the concept of Tri Hita Karana that is creating a balance among God, environment and human. It also reminds Balinese Hindus to prepare themselves for the forthcoming Galungan day.
