New Elephant Safari Park Lodge 2008-02-18 [Balibagus.com]
Take the time, make the time, visit Geger and indulge in a day of simple pleasure. Bathe in the calm waters, play on the sand, bask under the sun and eat with gusto. Let's treasure it while we still can.
Opening recently over a weekend in January was the first of its kind, an accommodation facility set in the midst of the park and what was to be revealed as the Elephant Safari Park Lodge. Now guests can view the mighty and rare Sumatran elephants from their own beds – or baths – as well as take a ride through the densely foliaged landscape. You can get on an elephant from your room and cruise through the park! And 'Elephant Chauffeur' becomes a new jargon.
Apart from there being a large area dedicated to the elephants including a breeding area, the park also has an elephant museum and information center, a five star 250 seat restaurant, a show arena, a large elephant related gift shop, and 'The Elephant Safari Park Lodge'.
With the newly launched lodge, a luxury private purpose built 25 room safari style accommodation facility, visitors are now offered the exclusive experience to interact, feed, ride, observe, learn, play and stay with the herd of 27 giants.
| Want a more relaxing aspect of the park? Another new feature is its Safari Wellness Spa, the first safari themed spa on the island. The spa boasts an all glass atrium lobby with elegantly appointed male and female treatment and spa rooms; all overlooking the elephant relaxation pads and parklands through cleverly designed windows.
The spa features a range of signature treatments based on the village name of Taro, which means 'wild yam'. The extensive menu includes body treatments, waxing, facials, and hand, foot and hair treatments.
The menu's signature treatment applies a pressure point massage based on the oriental theories of energy meridians, effective in relieving tension, aches and pains. The combination of soothing aromatic oils and gentle kneading leave the body relaxed and refreshed.
An ultimate spa package is a 4-hour experience consisting of the wild yam skin nourishing signature ritual, yon-ka vital intense, deep regenerating facial, manicure and pedicure. This is a skin cleansing and balancing top to toe treat that will leave you no longer feeling like a wrinkly pachyderm
