Bali Public Holiday 2005 2004-12-15 [Balibagus.com]
Indonesia's rich cultural heritage and diverse religion have blended the archipelago into a unique entity called Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Each of the islands that scattered from Sabang to Merauke is rich in their cultures, ethnics, languages, and local customs. Bali is no exception. Although Hinduism dominated the island, the Balinese are open to other cultures. Many cultures and customs have blended and formed Bali as what we see today. It was Buddhism, Hinduism, animism, and dynamism that have blend so deeply into the Balinese life. Daily offerings, temple ceremonies, teeth filing, and tumpek are examples of these blends. And since there are so many public holidays in Bali, therefore people mimick Bali as "Banyak Libur (meaning: many holidays)".
