Bali Kites Festival 2005

The annual Bali Kites Festival (BKF) is just about to begin. This 27th BKF will take place on July 28 -31 at Padang Galak Beach, Denpasar. “We will invite local and foreign kite flying devotees to join the 27th BKF,” says AA Bagus Gede Netera, a spokesperson for the Bali provincial administration.
|  The foreign participants will come from Japan, Australia, New Zealand, France, and Malaysia, in addition to those from Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta. This 4-day festival will start at 08.00 and finish at 15.00.
The Festival Details
The festival is divided into three criteria: traditional kites, innovation kites and kober (group's flag). Each participant should follow the festival dress code, that is, wearing the pakaian adat. The minimum number of people for each group is 15.
|  Getting There
Padang Galak is about 30 minutes driving from the Ngurah Rai airport. If you stay at Nusa Dua, it takes 45 minutes driving and from Ubud about 40-50 minutes driving. The most convenience place will be Sanur, it's only 10 minutes driving to Padang Galak.
What to bring
You need to bring mineral water because the weather can be very hot there. Don't forget to bring your camera. There are a lot of beautiful kites and other exciting activities to shoot.
