Indonesia is the rupiah (IDR), which is non-exportable and required only
for roadside spending. All official art shops accept foreign currency (notes)
or traveller's cheques. Hotels and tours may be paid with traveller's cheques
or foreign currency (notes). Large restaurants will also accept traveller's
cheques. Only certain places accept credit cards.
Banks are in arcades of large hotels and in Denpasar, Ubud
and Candi
Dasa. We recommend that you take a calculator when changing money
and double check. Also, carefully count money given to you before leaving
