Villa Djamrud (Emerald Villa) and Villa Tirta Ayu (Villa of the Beautiful Spring) overlook the magnificent Water Palace spring fed pools and fountains. They are situated in Tirta Ayu, the home of the youngest son of the late Raja. Beyond the gardens are sculpted rice terrace fields in classic Bali style which lead the eye to surrounding mountains, hills and the deep blue sea with Lombok Island floating peacefully in the distance. Both villas have been designed and appointed for your pleasure, privacy and comfort. As was the wish of the late Raja, Tirtagangga remains open to the public and is enjoyed by the local people on a daily basis. You are not separated from Balinese life in your villa compound, rather you are invited to participate and enjoy interacting with the many colorful and heartfelt people who live around you. Both villas have been designed and appointed for your pleasure, privacy and comfort. As was the wish of the late Raja, Tirtagangga remains open to the public and is enjoyed by the local people on a daily basis. Facilities:

Villa Djamrud (Emerald Villa) is really two villas, the Marble Suite and Lion Villa. As a whole Villa Djamrud features 2 bedrooms with 2 baths, two living rooms, dining pavilion and day bed "dream" pavilion, all overlooking the beautiful Water Palace. You can engage the entire villa, or choose either the Marble Suite or Lion Villa according to your needs:

MARBLE SUITE VILLA
In the "grand" villa style, this harmonious two story octagon is a mini palace in itself. The master bedroom and bath are upstairs for romantic privacy and inspiration. The open window walls have commanding views of the Water Palace fountains and pools, rice fields, mountains and ocean. We provide a stereo CD and tape player for your enjoyment.

LION VILLA

Named for the presence of two lions carved from lava rock that appear in the garden, this romantic retreat villa offers you privacy with window views of the distant ocean, rice fields, fountains and pools of the Water Palace. At the top of a crafted spiral staircase is a king size bed with gabled loft windows overlooking the beautiful view. Downstairs is a living/ dining room opening to a private garden and Water Palace views. There is a full open yet private tropical bathroom with Italian tiles for your bathing pleasure.

Villa tirta Ayu

This magnificent villa comprises the former King's private quarters; living, dining, lounging and receiving family, royal guests and visitors. Featured in Tropical Asian Style by Luca Invernizzi Tettoni (pp. 148 - 151), Villa Tirta Ayu is a masterpiece of restoration design.

DINING PAVILION

The views from this royal residence are astounding from every room and every angle. The eye is filled with the grandeur of the Water Palace fountains and pools, the magically sculpted rice-field terraces bordering the palace walls, all the way to the ocean and distant Lombok Island.

The villa features a master bedroom suite, living room/ extra bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a formal dining pavilion, and many lounging sitting areas for your every whim and mood. There is a full kitchen and staff quarters behind the villa.

The villas are within the former royal family compound, Tirta Ayu, inside the Tirtagangga Water Palace. A short 3 minute walk from the parking area, passing local shops, cafes and restaurants, through the palace gardens you arrive at villas within Tirta Ayu. Tirtagangga is 15 minutes from a magnificent white sand, undeveloped beach, 20 minutes from Candi Dasa, 30 minutes from Amed, 90 minutes from Ubud, 2 hours from the airport and a century away from the hectic life back home.

An Asian colonial teakwood king size bed focuses this ensemble of elegant bathing, renewal and retreat spaces. On the wrap around terrace is a secluded breakfast area and informal lunch table/reading station overlooking the expansive views.

The master bathroom is a domain of its own with Italian white marble sink counter and sunken marble bath and shower, featuring statuary designed and created for the late King.

This gracious room features a queen size antique Chinese bed for lounging and/ or sleeping when those special friends arrive for the night or if you are sharing the villa. There is a full attached bathroom with Italian white marble sink counter and large "rain down" brass shower fixture.

Villa Tirta Ayu is decorated with antique and contemporary furnishings. There is a telephone and large refrigerator in the kitchen.
