About Ponjok Batu
Temple
Ponjok Batu was built in 16th century
during the Dalem Waturenggong period. It was built to honour
Danghyang Nirarta, a Javanese priest, who stopped to admire
the spectacular surrounding view when he saw a boat of fishermen
from Lombok in trouble. He helped the unconscious crew and took
them back to Lombok, although the boat had no sail and the mast
was broken. |
